JEWELLERY REUNITED IS A SERVICE RUN BY THE GUILD OF JEWELLERY DESIGNERS TO HELP REUNITE LOST OR STOLEN JEWELLERY WITH ITS RIGHTFUL OWNER.
Use of the system is currently included free as a feature of GoJD websites and can be used as an extra revenue stream by charging for serial number registrations as an addon to your own products.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Visitors to your site register their unique serial number either as an addon service with products that you sell or as a standalone service.
Send the item off to the engraver of your choice to have the serial numbers applied to your jewellery items.
We recommend laser engraving to achieve a crisp, easily read, mark.
WHAT IF JEWELLERY IS LOST?
Relax and don’t panic! It might still be in the house so keep on looking.
In the meantime, if it really is lost and it gets found, the finder will look at the jewellery for any identifying marks, locate the serial number and web address and then visit the jruk.uk website to enter the code and start the process.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
An email is automatically sent from the jruk.uk website to the owner of the piece with details of the person who found it and the item of jewellery.
The owner can then contact the finder directly to arrange collection or delivery of the item.
